The Dog Owner: Allison Hill-Blogger/Writer/Public Speaker for Accidentally Allison : My chronological story of transformation on my quest for never-ending love, making everyone feel normal; one disastrous relationship at a time.

Allison Hill and Costello

Dogs type and Name: Louis – Yorkie

Costello – Chow/Newfoundland Mix

Louis and Costello

Q: Why did you choose these dogs?

Costello was our first family dog and we got the opportunity to rescue him from the south. We got Louis in NJ. I got him to try and help focus my teenage daughter. She was having some issues at the time and we were thinking he could be a distraction.

Q: What relationship advice would your dogs give in order to find never-ending love?

Louis is the optimist and Costello is the pessimist, so their advice would be very different. Louis would tell me I am perfect the way I am and to never give up hope and to keep an open heart. Costello on the other hand may tell me that I’ve tried my best, but it just doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen for me. He would tell me to cut my losses and be happy with myself. 🙂

Q: Do you talk to your dogs? If so, what do you talk about?

Every day. Costello tilts his head back and forth when you talk to him and Louis wags his tail and kisses you. I talk about everything. I always say good morning, goodbye and goodnight-just like they were my children

Q: If they could talk to you, what would they say?

Costello would have the voice of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. I’m sure and he would tell me that I should slow down and take it easy. Louis would have the Taco Bell Chihuahua’s voice and be constantly telling me we should take risks.

Q: If your dogs had a job or career, what would they be doing?

Costello would be an accountant and Louis would be sports Publicist.

Q: What lesson in life have your dogs taught you?

They have taught me unconditional love. They are always happy to see me and never stay mad.

Q: How do your dogs inspire you?

My dogs inspire me by always being there when I need them, even when I think I am alone, I’m not. They give love, affection and admiration every chance they get. I hope to someday be more like them.

Q: Where are your dog’s favorite places to go with you?

Bed. The minute I ask if they are ready for bed, they both run to my room. Not before getting Louis’s favorite stuffed piggy though.

Q: Who or what do your dogs find the most interesting?

Anything outside the big living room window. Squirrels, people, wind…you name it, they love it.

Q: What is the most annoying thing other dog owners do?

I can’t really say, because I’m THAT dog owner. I dress them up, I put on bow ties for them, I treat them like my kids, and I post a million pictures of them. I think I am the annoying dog owner.

Q: What does being a responsible dog owner mean to you?

It means giving them love, attention, affection, food, shelter, exercise, and time. Everything any responsible parent would give to those they love.

Q: Do you ever dress up your dogs? If so, as what?

YES. Louis hates sweaters, but they look so ridiculously adorable on him, that I can’t help myself. Also in the winter, he had a raincoat and a parka. Costello is too big, but does get a bow tie at the holidays. Louis sporting a sweater

Q: How have your dogs changed your life?

I couldn’t imagine my life without them and I’d have ten more if I had the room. They have opened my eyes to love. More love than I thought possible.

Q: Do your dogs have a philosophy of life?

I believe they do. I believe it would be “Live life to the fullest and never miss a moment to be with the ones you love and show them how much they mean to you”.

Q: I love my dogs because they are an extension of my family, my love and me.

Q: Have you ever made dog treats for your dogs? If so, please share your recipe.

No I haven’t. I wish I was that cool, but I’m not.

WAGGLEVIEW®: These interviews are focused on leaders in business, the arts, the community, or at home. My hope in doing this is to present remarkable and respected people in their community with their beloved pets. Who can resist reading about pets and what these people do? This is a platform for people to display their talents; their own business, a new book, a deeply loved passion for a charity or their own job. It also shows their love for their pet!

Thank you Allison for taking the time to participate in the Waggleview®.
